PRE-PRODUCTION
You cannot grasp scriptwriting in one sitting, after one course. It’s a trial-and-error process of mastery. Sounds like a lot of work, right? It is, and rightfully so because scriptwriting is a crucial part of the most successful marketing campaigns.
Location scouting is finding real places to serve as the fictional locations described in the script. The right location supports the narrative and helps to create a believable world.
Casting is the process of selecting models, actors, dancers, performers, or other roles required for the script. It is the process of identifying the talent who can most effectively and convincingly step into the role.
PRODUCTION
Live-action filming refers to action on camera that involves real actors, human or animal, and settings as opposed to animated or CGI effects.
Aerial drone filming provides a very high vantage point and is perfect for both logistical reasons in being able to capture more within a frame as well as psychological reasons which give the audience a unique perspective of a story unfolding. The establishing shot used for expansive landscapes and settings is one of the most common and most practical that can immediately level up the production value. The "follow" shot is great for sports, biking, skateboarding, skiing, snowboarding, etc. but we can also set up our drones to follow faster objects like motorcycles, cars., or trains.
The art of underwater filming requires a profound knowledge of your camera, as well as an understanding of the intricacy of filmmaking. Understanding the numerous necessary adaptions to an ever-changing aquatic realm is an integral part of the creative process. Capturing behavior, action, and emotions is required to bring your shots to life.
POST-PRODUCTION
Advanced Editing covers more complex and unusual technical, stylistic, and storytelling techniques used in the completion of video projects. Video editing is important because it is the key to blending images and sounds to make us feel emotionally connected and sometimes truly there in what we're watching. It's a safe assumption to say that video editing is one of the most important jobs in the process of creating videos.
Color grading is how you communicate mood to your audience and is an important part of creating a specific style. It's a crucial factor in how your audience reacts to what they see on the screen. Understanding how colors affect emotion is extremely important.
Video might be what draws us to the screen, but half of any viewing experience comes through our ears. Of course, we hear the dialogue and voice-over, but other more subtle auditory elements — music, ambiance, and sound effects — also help bring what we see on screen to life. Paying close attention to a few specific audio elements can noticeably elevate the quality of a video.
In this stage, we will include and edit your brand's digital files to best fit the visuals of your project.
STYLING TEAM (if needed)
Makeup plays a vital role in character creation and visual aesthetics. Good makeup gives the viewers key information about a character at first sight. It also reflects the mood of the actor. This enhances the storytelling and realism of the video.
The hairstylist's role is to design hairstyles that best suit the storyline before shooting. Cut and style the actors’ hair on shoot days, and provide wigs or bold caps if needed.
The wardrobe stylist provides specific outfits for the actors. A wardrobe stylist gets the look and feel of the clothing needed for the project they are working on and goes out to buy outfits for each actor. On set, the wardrobe stylist is responsible for making the outfit look its best for filming.
The set designer is responsible for the worlds that characters on screen inhabit: from the rooms, buildings, and outdoor spaces they move through to the pieces of furniture that fill them, and even aspects of presentation like the set's angle.
Anytime you see an actor handle or interact with an object in the frame, that object was carefully picked out and acquired by a single person — the prop master. Some projects can have an incredible amount of props and each one is important in its own way. Behind it all is a prop master.
There are many factors that influence cost and numerous variables that need to be considered. Broadly speaking, the amount of preparation prior to filming, the number of filming locations, the complexity of the script, travel costs to filming locations, the number of actors needed, and extras such as; makeup, hair, styling, set design, props, and voice-over, all influence the cost calculation. We're aware that sometimes there are budget restrictions but don't let that worry you, get in touch today, and let's see how we can help.
